The OFSCN® 300℃ SM Polyimide Optical Fiber is a high-performance single-mode fiber specifically designed for extreme environments, ranging from cryogenic temperatures to high heat. Unlike standard fibers with acrylate coatings that degrade above 85°C, this fiber utilizes a specialized polyimide coating to maintain structural integrity and optical performance.

Key Technical Parameters:

  • Temperature Range: Stable operation from -200°C to +350°C (with short-term excursions possible up to -270°C).
  • Fiber Geometry: Standard 9/125 μm core/cladding diameter with a thin 155 μm coating diameter.
  • Fiber Standards: Produced based on G.652D glass preforms; bend-insensitive versions (G.657 A2 or G.657 B3) are also available upon request.
  • Customization: Options include pure silica core (for radiation resistance) and additional carbon coatings (for hydrogen/moisture resistance).

Application Scenarios:

This fiber is primarily used in:

  1. Distributed Fiber Sensing (DTS/OFDR): For temperature and strain monitoring in oil and gas wells or aerospace components.
  2. High-Temperature Patch Cords: Serving as the core component for the OFSCN® 300℃ Fiber Optic Patch Cord.
  3. Industrial Communication: Reliable data transmission in high-heat industrial processing zones.
