What is the maximum frequency of vibration signals that can be measured?
The maximum frequency of vibration signals that can be measured by an FBG system is directly related to the sampling frequency of the OFSCN® Fiber Bragg Grating Interrogator. Our standard interrogators offer sampling frequencies of 10Hz, 50Hz, or 100Hz.
According to the Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem, the maximum vibration frequency that can be accurately measured is half of the sampling rate. Therefore, with a 100Hz sampling rate, vibration signals up to 50Hz can be effectively captured.
