Fbg strain sensor

Hello, I would like to learn about FBG strain sensors.

Hello and welcome to OFSCN®! Our FBG strain sensors are one of our most mature product lines, covering a wide range of engineering needs from microstrain to ultra-large strain ranges. To provide you with an accurate recommendation, I need to understand two key pieces of information first:

1. What is your measurement environment? Specifically, this includes:

  • Operating temperature range (Normal temperature -20°C to 55°C? Or high-temperature conditions of ≤100°C / ≤200°C / ≤300°C?)
  • Will the sensor be surface-mounted (e.g., on the surface of metal/concrete structures) or embedded (e.g., inside concrete, rebar, or composite materials)?

2. What is the approximate strain range you need to measure? For example:

  • Conventional range (≤6000με / ≤10000με, suitable for structural health monitoring)
  • Ultra-large range (up to 30000με or even 3% to 40% strain, suitable for large deformations, soft materials, or special flexible structures)

You can start by briefly describing the application scenario (e.g., what structure and which part you are measuring), and I will help you match the most suitable packaging type and model.

  1. The temperature range is less than or equal to 200 degrees Celsius, embedded internally. I also have a question: how can strain be measured when pasted on the surface?
  2. The conventional range is sufficient.
