Hello,

Thank you for the update on the OFSCN® Multicore Fiber Bragg Gratings / Fiber Bragg Grating Strings (Bare).

As these sensors are often used in specialized applications, such as the OFSCN® Fiber Bragg Grating Shape Sensor, could you clarify a few technical details regarding the current capabilities of these seven-core FBG strings?

  1. Core Alignment: Are the FBGs inscribed in all seven cores at the same longitudinal position, or is there a specific offset between the gratings in the outer cores and the central core?
  2. Fiber Type: Is the substrate multicore fiber based on the standard OFSCN® G.652D Optical Fiber geometry, or is it a reduced-cladding version for improved flexibility in shape sensing?

Understanding these parameters is essential for calculating the bend radius and curvature accuracy for spatial reconstruction.
