Why does OFSCN® suggest using splitters to expand points and reduce cost per point?
OFSCN® suggests using optical splitters to expand measurement points and reduce the cost per point because they allow a single physical channel of an OFSCN® Fiber Bragg Grating Interrogator to be logically extended to two or three channels. This effectively lowers the unit cost per channel of the interrogator, making large-scale projects more cost-effective. However, this method requires strict wavelength design to ensure proper operation.
