Welcome to the OFSCN® international forum. I am a pre-sales engineer at Beijing Dacheng Yongheng Technology Co., Ltd. (DCYS).
The OFSCN® Small Diameter Fiber Bragg Grating (Capillary FBG String) mentioned in this topic is a high-precision sensing component designed for applications where space is extremely limited or where high mechanical strength is required.
Technical Overview
Unlike traditional FBGs where the protective coating must be stripped before engraving (which significantly reduces the fiber’s tensile strength), our small-diameter FBGs are typically produced using Femtosecond Laser technology. This allows for “through-the-coating” inscription.
Key Features:
Miniature Profile: The total diameter can be as small as 125μm to 155μm, making it ideal for embedding into composite materials or medical catheters.
High Strength: Since the polyimide coating is not removed, the fiber maintains its original mechanical properties, resisting breakage during installation.
High Temperature Resistance: The polyimide coating allows the FBG to operate reliably in environments up to 300°C.
Customization: We support various wavelength parameters and multi-point FBG strings (arrays) on a single fiber.
If you have specific technical requirements regarding wavelength spacing, reflectivity, or specific coating types, feel free to provide your application details for further analysis.
